Well, I guess it’s time to get back in the saddle and start-up Just a Geezer again. My hiatus was caused by having my second knee replaced—in the last eight months I had surgery on both knees and for carpal tunnel. I’m not looking for sympathy, but I’ll take it if I can get it.

The second knee operation was a breeze compared to the first. Much less pain and swelling and I was up and walking without a walker or cane at least 6 weeks earlier. Last time I saw the doctor, I commented that “Are you sure you didn’t put that first knee replacement in backwards?” I don’t think he found my observation all that funny.

I am already planning my new future with knees that actually work and are pain-free. At one time I was obsessed with fly fishing, but had to give it up because I could no longer walk over the boulders in the streams I fished. As a result, I haven’t touched a fly rod in over 5 years. But now I have a new plan—lake fishing from a pontoon boat. Around Spokane there are a lot more lakes than streams and I look forward to paddling around casting to fish again. I’m going to join the local fly fishing club this winter and hope to get some tips from people who know what they are doing.

I apologize for not keeping up on my blog, but like always “My blog, my rules.” I appreciate your hanging in there until I got going again and will try to make it worth the wait.

Last Saturday was Halloween and each of my grandkids had a custom costume made by my daughter or my wife. Marley who is obsessed with food (not eating, just looks at it as an art form) went as a piece of pizza. Max who loves the noise and the excitement of a good trash pickup, went as a garbage truck. And Mia went as butterfly because ????

Sorry for showing off the 3 M’s, but right now I have nothing else. Next blog will talk about what happened in my first 100 posts and what I hope to achieve with my next 100.

Glad you are back and recovered from all the operations. Have missed your efforts. Look forward to more.
